This project commenced in May 2008 and was completed in November 2009. The complex consists of 65 luxury apartments, a basement car park and 3 levels of podium decks with twin tower blocks on top. A combination elevated, heated swimming/paddling pool was installed on the 3rd podium level with a heated elevated pool on each roof deck.
Waterproofing and structural loads were naturally a significant design and construction quality consideration.
The contract value was $43.5 million and this project was completed on time and within budget.
The ability to contract for and manage multi-million dollar projects was important during this project and the management of a large labour force — in excess of 280 people were on site each day. The key considerations within this project included an extremely high standard of finish, noise reduction for neighbours and compliance to strict council resource consent requirements.
