Sulphur Point Cold Store - Port of Tauranga

In 2010 Marra carried out construction work at the Sulphur Point Cold Store at the Port of Tauranga.  The scope of the work included the extension of the existing cold store.

In summary, the work consisted of:

• The construction of two new cold store rooms – Nos.5 & 6 – on the north side of the existing central corridor
• Extension of the existing east end Environmental Loading Area
• Extension of the existing west end Environmental Loading Area including the addition of two new blast freezers, partitioning-off of a refrigeration plant room, and partial infilling of the existing unused rail slot for a new loading dock
• Addition of a canopy between the existing Office/Amenities and Engine Room
• All refrigeration and electrical work associated with the extension.
